Cyber World was reconstructed from the concrete skeleton of a structure laying unprotected and un-maintained on the Bangkok skyline for ten years after the 1997 Asian Financial Collapse.
Extensive concrete cancer in the basement of the structure required remediation which was completed using a Xypex Concentrate coating to pacify the electrolytic process and dry out the concrete while still allowing the concrete to breath and dry out.
After removal of spalling concrete the sound concrete was coating with Xypex Concentrate and the basement walls were then returned to contour using shotcrete. A second application of Xypex Concentrate coating was then applied externally over the remediated area.
The total area treated was approximately 4,000m2 and was completed in 2006.
